It is the Fourth Of July, girls, and in our house that means listening to the Original Broadway Cast Album of "1776." As well as Baby Gojira and I doing Little Edie's Fourth Of July Sparkler Dance. Today is a celebration of independence, so celebrate however you please.
For me, this day also brings back memories of the past, when we used to go to the Lammers in South Plainfield, NJ, each year, for the annual cookout, and see my late friend, Marc, his parents, and all their friends. It was such a part of my life from birth on into my twenties, that to this day, I always think of it and them.
Memories. They renew and tear at us.
Meanwhile, we still have to await the outcome of Joey Chestnut!
Happy Fourth, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Precious Memories, how they linger...
In the quiet of the midnight, precious sacred scenes unfold...
