Little Pippin is so looking forward to this classic, as he is the only member of the household. And our beloved Venusian friend, Cucumbo, I think, auditioned for the film, but did not make the cut. Alas, that is show business.
Still, there is good news. Because tonight "Sventoonie" is continuing his after party. Tonight, he is going to deconstruct something even I never heard of, darlings--1971's "Lady Frankenstein," starring--are you ready?--Joseph Cotten, as the Baron? Can you believe it? From "Citizen Kane," just thirty years before, and now THIS? Please don't confuse this film with the 1990 camp classic "Frankenhooker," where Louise Lasser plays the creator's mother. This would also be a perfect film for "Sventoonie," as the mother fixated creator tries to reconstruct the body of his decapitated fiancé with body parts of prostitutes. Mark my words; "Sventoonie" will eventually show this one.
This evening, though, look for the perfect blend of classic and camp. And here we are, darlings! See why we all wanted to be Anne Francis???????????????????????????? And still do????????????????
