Tonight, Svengoolie Is Showing (Again) What Should Have Been Titled, "Attack Of The Turds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

                                        Some films get too much exposure, and "The Monolith Monsters," from 1957, is one of them.  First shown in June and then November of 2020, it is being trotted out again for reasons unexplainable to me.  This is one of those films where the poster above is much better than the finished product.  And not nearly as much fun as "The Deadly Mantis."

                                          Once again, the setting is a Southwestern town.   Some rocks--yes, rocks!!!!--surface from beyond our galaxy--and why they wanted to come here is never explained--and, when combined with earth's most abundant substance, water, grow into giant turd-like creatures, who creep with such slow speed, even a toddler could outrun them.

                                            For those who have never seen this piece of crap, it is worth a single viewing.  But this will be our third; only little Pippin has never seen it, so we are watching it for him.  And the alternative on Channel 13 is the 25th Anniversary "Les Miz" concert, featuring Lea Salonga as a subpar Fantine.  She is not the worst, however--Daphne Rubin-Vega was.

                                             But "Sventoonie" is on tonight, and even though it is a repeat--a deconstruction of the 1985 sci-fi film "Creature," featuring Klaus Kinski, who is always worth watching.  As are Sventoonie and Blob E. Blob.

                                                So, tune in at 8PM, and if the film tunes you out, try and stay awake for "Sventoonie."

                                                 And pray this film does not air again for a LONG time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
