With Memorial Day Weekend Looming, It Is Time To Bring Back a Long Standing Tradition--The Graveside Picnic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                              Those magical 80-plus days between Memorial and Labor Day will soon be here.  The most magical days of the year.  So, I think it is time to bring back the tradition of a graveside picnic.

                                Such picnics were popular in Victorian times, and the post-Civil War era in America.  All one does is bring a picnic basket with goodies, and a cloth to spread on the ground near the grave site of the beloved whom you want to honor by having a picnic.

                                   The choice of beloved rests entirely on the participants.  Can one have more than one picnic?   Of course, especially if one has lost more than one beloved.

                                     I know the idea may sound macabre to some, but the event is held during the day, people dress elegantly and honor the memory of their beloved.   Memorial Day is a perfect time to celebrate this way, and it is time to bring this tradition back.
