Yes, girls, and I DO mean the real Bernadette, not Jennifer Jones!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the day Bernadette died, in 1879, at the age of 35. Fifty-four years later, in 1933, on this very day, she was canonized as a saint. Which is what is being celebrated today, not to mention Holy Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those who know me on here might say, why not watch "The Song Of Bernadette" today? I admit it would make a kind of sense, but since it has been my Easter go-to movie for over twenty years, I cannot break with tradition.
As Holy Saturday is a day of reflection, reflect also on the unstoppable faith and endurance of Saint Bernadette, and what she did for all in bringing forth the Spring of Lourdes, and how worthy she must have been to be chosen by Mary visiting her in the grotto.
Let's hear it for Bernadette, everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
