Theater queens will know instantly, but for novices and newbies, it may be necessary for me to explain the above photo. Standing down front is Kelly Bishiop in her TONY-winning life-inspired portrayal of the wonderfully acerbic Sheila Bryant in the original cast of "A Chorus Line," which turns 50--can you believe it? --next year!!!!!!!!!! And if someone does not do anything about it, I will.
Behind Kelly, left to right, are Wayne Cilento as Mike Costa, Baayork Lee as Connie Wong, Michel Stuart as Gregory Gardner, and the great Donna McKechnie in the cap of her career as Cassie Fergusson, also based on her life.
One could never assemble a cast like this again. Is the talent even out there?
Which is why I think it would be a great idea to gather the surviving originals and have them perform the show for a limited run!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People would flock to it, and I would be first in line!
October 25, 1975, when I first saw "A Chorus Line," with my father!
It was a life changer, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
