Darlings, Perhaps It Is Time To Revive A Decades Old Tradition!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, girls, with Easter coming up, I have been thinking. Not just of that First Easter Morning, when Mary Magdalene, at dawn, carried spices to the tomb, to anoint the body of Jesus. Not just of the fun filled Easter egg and basket hunts my parents used to create for me in our house when I was growing up.

No, I was thinking of what came the night before. That is when we got out our PAAS Easter Egg coloring kit--it had to be no other, loves--and decorate the Easter eggs. We always did a dozen, which meant there was plenty of egg on hand the following week, and what to do with all these hard boiled eggs, before they went bad????

Which is still a problem facing Monsieur and Moi if we revive this tradition???? But tell me what you think, girls?????? Should we revive it??????
And what is your favorite egg decoration????????? And don't forget the Bunny Cart!!!!!!!!!!

Alleluia, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know anything about a phone call; would like to touch base w/ you. (You come to my wedding 27 yrs ago & then drop off the face of the earth). Don't know how to reach you; and don't want to leave my email or # here. BTW, TNT showed the Wizard of Oz last night over and over and over----they can't compare to YOU performing the whole movie in 10 minutes!

Hey old friend! I'm so glad to see your musical/theatrical/film tastes haven't changed since you were young! I was always worried you'd outgrow the classics you'd introduced me to! BTW, "SORRY..." but Marg is wrong, your WOO interpretation was longer than 10 minutes...it just seemed that short because you talked/sang so fast :)

So happy to know you're in the blogosphere and being creative! Tell me more!

Mary Anne

PS - I still have the hand-written lyrics to the song you wrote to me when I was about 14 to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas". Do you remember it?

Mary Anne!
Again--OMG!!!!!
All this started with a SPHS alumni directory, from 2,008 that myu father had, which Penny brought up from Florida recently. It said Margaret was living at the old house on 10th Ave. That proved to be incorrect. I located a Margaret Polizzi on swithcard.com, and left a message--hope I have the right party. If so, she can give you the numbers I gave.

I am in Woodsise Queens and still working at Lincoln Center-the Library For Performing Arts. I have stories, believe me.

Yes, I remember that song--the refrain was something about your hairstyle--whcih was NEVEr baqd to begin with.

Take care, hope to catch up!

Our Dad still lived on 10th right up till January, when he passed away. MA and I both live in South Jersey; me in Washing Township (near Glassboro); MA in Deptford (near me). Believe it or not, I found you through a blog you sent to Fran Drescher. I had been searching for you for a lonnnnng time; kept googling your name; even as Michael T, as that was your REAL name. Just the other night, I was lucky enough to find the blog to FD. It had nothing to do w/ the SPHS reunion book. I see you don't do Facebook, so we will have to connect some other way.

Margaret--

By all means, call!!!! Have no idea who I spoke to today--someone in North Jersey!!! Anyway, try the home and cell #s. I will not be home till Thursday eve--am staying at David's.

Also--my home machine has me doing a scen e from "Valley Of The Dolls," so don't worry--it's Me!!! Feel free to leave a message!!!!!

OMG I already can't wait to call just to hear your outgoing VotD message! Are you doing Neely??

The Raving Queen said...

Margaret and Mary Anne--

Actually, I am doing Helen Lawson on the message, though Neely is my role of choice. We have a play reading group here at work that allows some of us to act; we just did "The Importance Of Being Earnest," and I did Miss Prism!!!!! Sort of like Nancy Kulp as Jane Hathaway!!!

BTW, I was sorry to hear about your father. I imagine things were done up HP way; if I had known I would have paid my respects.

I left you a message today at your house; also texted your cell phone w/ my # and MA's; didn't want to call your cell; wasn't sure if you were at work or not. Please call me Friday.

I just want you to know you had a huge impact on Mary Anne, as well as I when we were younger.

Whether you choose to believe it, ignore it, or accept it, it is true. Doesn't matter; we know how you have influenced us in a positive way, and I thought you should know you made a difference in our lives...it isn't often we get the chance to say this to someone.

Not everything was bad in HP!!! You had us!!!

I completely concur Marg! Can't wait to catch up. I want to hear and tell STORIES!

Believe me, if it hadn't been for you guys, I might not have made it through HP. I was last there in 2005.

Got the messages and numbers; yes, I was at work yesterday. It gets crazy here. Friday is my day off--I am working Saturday--so I will call.

Margaret--I still remember that novel you wrote, which you read to us chapter by chapter on the front porch, called "Nothing Can Last Forever!"

Mary Anne--Whenever I play string games--Cat's Cradle--I think of you. I STILL have the Monopoly Game and the Etch A Sketch!

I will talk to you on Friday!
