"Sharp Objects" Is Getting "Closer!"
The more the story goes on, the more Eliza Scanlen, as Amma, steals the show. She is at the centerpiece of this antiquated tradition that many Southern towns have, Wind Gap's is called "Calhoun" where a Civil War Confederate wife named Millie Calhoun, whom Amma portrays in the pageant play, allows herself to be tortured and more by soldiers, in order to protect her husband.
The whole idea is grizzly, and the production lays it out in all its bizarre, but American, glory. When Amy Adams, as Camille emerges in a white gown, matching hat, and blue bow, her poise suggests such unhappiness that even lovely Amy manages to not look good in this getup. Of course, were she playing it another way, she would.
The entire motif suggests a hint of what an adaptation of ".....And Ladies Of The Club " might look like. But during the performance, Amma goes almost catatonic on stage, spying out beyond the audience, to the woods, where, it is clear, even if only in her mind, she sees something. What could that be?
Eventually, Amma flees to the woods, where Camille finds her in the ominous shed, whose recurring reappearance suggests it is going to become increasingly more important to the story.
The image of the two "women in white" running in the woods, suggests the story the child Camille interviewed, who said he saw Natalie Keene being abducted by a woman in white? This is included here, as some sort of clue. But what is the viewer to infer?
And the ending has got to be seen, girls, with Amy Adams, as Camille, having a close-up orgasm, induced by Chris Messina, most of whose naked body, and entire butt, viewers get
to see. Apparently, this actor has no hangups, so Messina must be well hung!
Bet Amma would know all about it, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
