So much has been written about "Strait-Jacket" on this blog that almost anything I say would be repetitive. But tonight, at 8PM, "Svengoolie" is pulling off a coup to begin June with this Joan Crawford classic.
I will keep saying that this should be done at The Metropolitan Opera. I mean, the scene of the Dueling Joans alone! And Edith Atwater as Michael (John Anthony Hayes) Fields' socially pretentious mother, who won't allow him to marry Lucy's daughter, Carol (Diane Baker) and whose son is so hungry for pussy he would probably screw his own mother. If this picture had had another ending, Michael would have banged both his mom and Lucy.
For those of you who are not watching "Good Night, And Good Luck" tonight, this film is a MUST. Especially if you have never seen it. And for those watching the Clooney opus, be sure and tape this film which is gold standard for CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Oh, Mommy, I'm so sorry, I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you, I love you, love you, HAAAAAAAAAATE you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
You just got to see it for yourselves, dolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
