Now, This Makes More Sense Than Speilberg Redoing "The Grapes Of Wrath," Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't even going to mention that one, girls, unless a moment in passing offered up an opportunity for me to do so.  And it has.  Imagine Spielberg taking one of the greatest American novels ever written, already having been turned into one of the greatest American films ever made, by one of the greatest American directors, John Ford, and featuring a cast, the likes of which could not be equaled--Henry Fonda, Jane Darwell, John Carradine, Charley Grapewin (yes, Uncle Henry, from "The Wizard Of Oz!!!!") and Darryl Hickman.

Who might he cast, as Rosa Sharon???? Carradine's granddaughter, Martha Plimpton????????  With Daddy Keith Carradine as Tom Joad????????  Twenty years ago, or more, this might have worked, but there is no one now to fill these earlier shoes, or tell this story.  Spielberg has his good points, dolls, but he will never be John Ford.

Enough of this.  The gentle looking soul pictured above is director David Fincher, whom I would love to work with, darlings, and whose body of work is anything but gentle. It is, however, brilliant.  Consider--"SeVen," "Fight Club,"  "Panic Room," "Zodiac," and, flawed though it was, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."

I have just found out, darlings, that he is going to direct the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's brilliant thriller, and marital study, "Gone Girl."

The book was just about unputdownable!!!!!!!!!!   If Fincher is helming the film, it should be enthralling.  He already has Ben Affleck to play the husband, Nick Dunne.

But who is going to play the title character, Amy Elliott Dunne?????????  As I said in my book posting, she is some piece of work!  And, especially for readers of the book, how will Fincher make the book's surprise elements....surprising??????????????

"Gone Girl" and David Fincher seem like a perfect match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go for it, David!  Hey, maybe this is who should do the much contemplated remake of "The Bad Seed!!!!!!!!!!"

In which case, then, I may get to play Rhoda Penmark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
