It Was A Mistake To Market This As A Beach Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Published sometime this past Summer, Regina Porter's debut novel is a collage of families and characters, who do not know each other, while the readers do.  Spanning the globe from New York to Paris, these include a sexually depraved addicted man and wife, who are ruining their son, Hank, as well as characters, black and white, of great civility.

Covering the Jim Crow to Obama era in America, the stories integrated into this tapestry are so compelling, and the scope so impressive, it is amazing how much Porter does in just 303 pages.

This was one of the more recent satisfying books of fiction I have read.  It may not be on my list, but it is good enough to be a contender.

"The Travelers," all making their journey on Earth, is a work of quality fiction.  It renews faith in readers desiring such, and makes all look forward to Potter's next effort.

It is a novel of humanity, filled with characters both loving and hateful!!!!!!!!!!

Victoria,

It is far too dark and penetrating to
be a beach read.
