A lot happened this weekend that I never covered--Arbor Day, Shakespeare's Birthday, Shirley Temple's, a memorial service, a theatrical production, but when I saw April 24 on the calendar, I knew there was something none of us could forget--
THE BIRTHDAY OF BARBRA STREISAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is right--BARBRA! Who turns 81 today! Can you believe it? Especially those of us who remember her opening at the Winter Garden in "Funny Girl," back in 1964, which is when I wanted to be her!
So, BABS, dear, eat a gallon of coffee ice cream, and have James Brolin polish whatever or wherever you tell him to. He has to somehow help pay the rent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BARBRA in her Eighties makes me feel old.
She was from Flatbush, in Brooklyn, and
graduated from Erasmus Hall High School.
Nowhere near Bay Ridge, unfortunately.
