What A Lead-In Disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This program is the crown jewel of Investigation Discovery. For the past two seasons, they have always opened with a catchy headliner that everyone remembered. Alice Crimmins was the first season, and Kitty Genovese, the last. And some big cases are coming up in this third season--the murder of Roseann Quinn is being done next week!!!!!!!!! Why couldn't they open with that????????????
I have no memory of Lee Roy Martin, who was this Gaffney Strangler, in South Carolina????????? Who cares about crime in South Carolina; New York and Hollywood is what it is all about, isn't it, darlings???????????? And on the scale of a serial killer--three girls and one abductee who survives, this is small potatoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was no history or insight into what made Martin a serial killer. It seemed to me like he was just some big publicity hound, and used murder as the best ingredient. Well, Lee Roy, you got what you asked for, and then some--the murders happened in 1967, or '68. I was in seventh grade then, pretty literate, and I don't remember this.
But several years later, on May 31, 1972, Kenneth Ramsey, an inmate of Martin's stabbed him to death. There is nothing like Southern Fried Justice, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so finger lickin' good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
