"I Won't Stay, While You Enjoy, Best Of Both Worlds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Girls, remember when Lulu was "it?"

"To Sir, With Love" was released on June 14, 1967, and became the biggest hit of that summer.  When the song reached No, 1 on the top ten charts, my late friend, Doug, and I were hysterical. No matter what we were doing , when the transistor announced the Number One song would be played, we would drop everything, and listen to "To Sir, With Love."

We were frantic for it.  I can recall doing "Hullabaloo" dance moves to it, while screaming out, "If you wanted the sky....."  It drove our parents crazy!

                                   Ah, youth.

Then, came her follow up song, "Best Of Both Worlds," which was not appreciated at the time, because I did not quite understand what it was.

The song had symphonic orchestrations, and sounded very dramatic, not quite as rockish as 'Sir,' with Lulu singing to some unknown person, most likely a man, that she is not going to tolerate his behavior.

That's right, girls!  This was a song of righteous, feminine confrontation.  How about those lyrics, "I couldn't share you; I couldn't bear to?"  And this, after playing a sympathetic British school tramp in "To Sir, With Love," who just blazed with talent, whenever she got near The Mind Benders!  Some of us wanted so much to be Lulu!  I know I did!  But some of us
also wanted to be Judy Geeson.  I wanted to play her role of Joan Crawford's daughter, Angela, in
the circus thriller, "Berserk!"

Here is the song, darlings!  This should be the anthem of the Me Too Movement!  Forget that ranting nut, Rose McGowan, with her faux activist look, courtesy of Sinead O' Connor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go with what Lulu says, and "make your fickle mind up," darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
