"Goodbye, Carol, Well, Goodbye, Carol.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Theater Queens the world over were saddened to learn yesterday of the death of the seemingly indefatigable Carol Channing.  She died, yesterday, at 97, of natural causes. May we all go so peacefully.

But what a life of service.  Those eyes, that voice.  From Lorelei to Dolly, to "Jazz Baby" and "Raspberries," in "Thoroughly Modern Millie."  The screen was too small to contain Carol, so she was made for the stage, where she made it her own.

Honestly, she was one of those performers I never thought would die.  On her centennial--which I hoped she would reach--I expected her to walk down those stairs again, as Dolly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alas, she will be doing it nightly, in the great beyond.

You will be sadly missed, Carol.  You were an original?

How much so?  Take a look at  Carol doing "Raspberries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

                                        Rest In Peace, Carol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
