You Have GOT To Be Kidding Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember Andrew Lloyd Webber's onetime writing partner, Tim Rice? He is still trying to make a go of it, but maybe it is time for him to stop.  Since 2013, he, librettist Bill Oakes, and composer Stuart Brayson have been cooking up a musical version of--get this--James Jones' novel, and the 1953 film classic, "From Here To Eternity."  Plans are on to open a production in London this year.  May it not cross to these shores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, who cares?  Second the perfection of the film cast is impossible to duplicate.  Its dramatic and sex situations are dated and tricky, and to update....well what would be the point?  It would not be "From Here To Eternity."

Why do composers and lyricists waist their talents on desperate ideas.  I could never see this done as a musical.  Even Sinatra did not sing a note in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Camp classics make good musical source material.  But not genuine ones.

I would rather take a tour of Lee Radziwill's apartment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
