"Throw A Gauntlet Down!" Wasn't A Bit Like "Camelot," Darlings!!!!!!!"

It takes glamour to bring down sleazy politicos, which is what happened on this past Tuesday's episode, that also included Giovanni making a play for Angela!!!!!! Can you believe it??????

I have to say that, so far, the writing on this current season of "Rizzoli And Isles" is better than last year's.  Except for the ecology episode, all of them have been pretty exciting.

This began with a young girl, inside a house resembling a cleaned up version of "The Addams Family's."  She seems to be cleaning the statue of a knight in armor, when someone she knows interrupts her.  She turns, and before anything else, she is hit in the head, goes rolling down a whole flight of stairs, and lands on the floor, dead and bloodied, as her body is dragged across the floor.

The victim turns out to be an employee of the local district attorney, whose friend, Isabel, was killed ten years before.  The case went cold, they were best friends, so now that she is in a position to do something, she wants to get to the bottom of things. But someone gets to her first.

So Rizzoli and Isles take over.  Along they way,  they encounter Dr. Hope Martin (Sharon Lawrence), who takes a shine to Maura.  But has no idea that Maura is the daughter she thought died at birth, which was when she--Dr. Martin--was only 18!!!!!  Maura can barely contain herself in hiding this fact, and Lawrence and Sasha Alexander play these scenes off each other very well.  Using an investigative technique invented by Dr. Hope, they  get to the bottom of things.

It seems the politico, Tom Macgregor, and his assistant, a guy named Dan, were counsellors at a  summer camp a decade ago when Isabel and Emma were girls.  Dan liked Isabel, but she clearly preferred Tom.  Jealous and enraged, Dan spikes both Emma and Tom with a roofie (the date rape drug) and goes on to rape Isabel, and, ultimately kill her.  He tries to pin the thing on Tom.  When Emma, the girl in the ADA's office, is checking the knight for signs, she sees Dan; he knows she knows he did in Isabel, does not want his or his politician employer to lose their campaign, so he kills Emma in a desperate ploy to maintain the status quo.  But, too bad, Rizzoli and Isles find both of them out.  Dan's sorry little ass is hauled off to the slammer by Jane, while Tom Macgregor is charged with being an accessory to murder.  Goodbye, political career, you two!!!!!!!!!!

I am telling you, between the suspense of the mystery, and the tension between Angela and Giovanni; let alone Giovanni questioning if Rizzoli and Isles are lesbians, which should please that fan base contingent, this was an exciting episode.  Angela made coffee, but no pancakes this week.

Oh, and then there is Sister Winnie, from Jane's school days, who is shaping up to be an interesting character, working as a Victim Advocate at the precinct. She is a tough nun, with attitude.

I cannot wait to see what happens next week. In the precinct or kitchen!!!!!!!!!
