Take A Ride With Sandra, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the Oscars coming up fast on us, tonight, and me finally fitted in my Mainbocher gown, we decided to watch one of the year's contenders the night before.  We picked "Gravity," which had me on edge, because--and don't ask me to rationalize here, girls!!!!--the idea of eternally floating dead in space has been a fear of mine.  Even though the chances of me even going into space are more than one in a million.  Remember, I never even took Advanced Placement Biology!!!!!!!!

Obviously, Sandra Bullock's character, Dr. Ryan ("My dad wanted a boy!") Stone did, and look at the trouble she got into!!!!!!!!!!!!  Not even George Clooney could save his sorry hunky ass in this one, darlings, which turns out to be about Sandra, space, and survival.  Think "Alien," without the monster on board the ship.  Or Veronica Cartwright.  Too bad--both would have livened this thing up!

Certainly, the technical aspects--editing, sound, cinematography--are stunning.  And kudos to director Alfonso Cuaron, for putting it all together, nicely.  This one really should be seen on a screen.

The drama, well hardly that, just seems too drawn out, for the purpose of the story, at hand!   Oh, and by the way, when Sandra finally stands up, out of the water, on the presumably uncharted island, it might have been nice if Gojira made a cameo appearance, and greeted her!

Otherwise, what you have is another variation of "Lost In Space," minus, June Lockhart, Angela Cartwright, as Penny, Dr. Smith, and the robot!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                         "Danger, Will Robinson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
