Girls, If You Are Going To Be A Slut, At Least Be One, Like Gene Tierney, In "The Shanghai Gesture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

                             I had heard of the movie "The Shanghai Gesture" for years, but was never aware of its camp potential. Ona Munson, famed for Belle Wattling in "Gone With The Wind" as a Chinese bar owner/madam?????  And Gene Tierney, looking here like a slut going the way that Anne Baxter went in "The Razor's Edge?"  But look at that hair, and those cheek bones!  And that skin!

                               If you're going to go slutty, girls, and end up hanging out in Chinese waterfront dives, you will want to look like Gene Tierney.  Even with her slovenliness, she maintains an acme of glamour. Which is what we all have to strive for?????????

                                 I can't get over Ona  as Chinese. But this was when they would not cast Asians in anything; even as late as 1955 Jennifer Jones played a Eurasian in "Love Is A Many-Spelndored Thing," and while it was one of her best performances, it wasn't exactly right.  They started getting things right with "South Pacific," and "Flower Drum Song!!!!!!!"

                                 This is one film I want to see--and so should you?

                                   But I want to know who Gene's costumer, make-up artist and hair stylist was!!!!!!!!!!!
