Not just Bernadette and Jacinta, but EVERY person chosen by God to be a saint--including some still on Earth, like Sister Camille D'Arienzo--is honored on this festive day. After Halloween, it may seem anti-climactic, but, darlings, it is more important.
Think about what the saints did for us, suffered for us, so that the world was made a little better and stronger each time, by their deeds.
I don't know how one celebrates when a saint, but I wish a happy day to all the saints, and celebrate as they please.
And watch for the living saints among us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
