Something A Little More Traditional, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inconceivable as it may seem to some, I do not have BARBRA's Christmas album.  Someday, that will be corrected.  When it comes to Christmas albums by solo artists, my favorite has always been Joan Baez' "Noel," recorded back in 1966.  Her achingly pure soprano was still in full force here, and it was never put to better use than on some of the songs featured here.

Of course, for those of us who love Joan, who marched and fought along with her, this recording is very special, but even those who don't know a thing about her will be struck by the beauty and power of her voice, on here.  Outstanding is "Cantique de Noel," a French version of "O Holy Night" that is so exquisite, you can't get it out of your head, so you listen to it, again.

Here is Joan, doing Schubert's "Ave Maria."  Her diction and range are just gorgeous, and it is my pleasure to bring, to my girls, one of the moving Holiday recordings to be heard!

                                  Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
