Why Resurrect These Wilted 'Flowers?????????'

Girls, you all know how I feel about the "Flowers In The Attic" franchise, that sick thing cooked up by even sicker V.C. Andrews, which only proves there are lots more sickos out there than one realizes, because this blend of sadomasochism and incest gets gobbled up, like popcorn at a Saturday matinee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As campy as the above photo looks, there is no point in watching. My only interest for doing so would be to see that devious, betraying bitch, Corinne, a money hungry thing if there ever was one, get hers!!!!!!!!!  But you know what?  That doesn't happen till the final book--"If There Be Thorns," I think--and there Corinne dies, rescuing her daughter, Cathy, from a fire, after putting her through decades of hell for her own selfish gain!  And Cathy forgives her!  Can you believe it!!!!!!!!  Not me, dolls!    Corinne burns up in flames, which is more than she deserves, and wouldn't it be great to see Heather Graham burn up in the dress she is wearing here. But no one played Olivia and Corinne better than Louise Fletcher and Victoria Tennant.  I wonder if anyone ever could.

I wonder, with black and white, subtlety, and actresses like Gladys Cooper, and Jennifer Jones or Gene Tierney (as Corinne) this story might have worked better had it been done in the 1940s.  With such things as ambiguity, suggestion, and black and white photography. And an A-list director!!!!!!!

But there is still the problem of how to end it all.  I have the answer.  Why tolerate three books?  End it in one!

Have the kids kill Malcom, the grandfather, lock Olivia and Corinne in the attic, and smack them to Kingdom Come!!!!!!!!  THEN, pull a "Rebecca" and set fire to Foxworth Hall, burning the two selfish bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Then the kids head off to Manhattan, where they become Broadway stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you think I am sick, darlings?????????  Try reading V.C. Andrews!!!!!!!!!!!
