This Was The Night It Happened, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 40 Years Ago Tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, everyone, four decades ago this evening, a paying audience took their seats in the Newman Theatre at the Public, to see an original new musical, called "A Chorus Line."  And theater has never been the same since.

I am old enough to have actually been in that audience, but I did not see the show till October 1975, when it had moved to the Shubert.

I can only wonder how many people in that audience of 299 are still alive, and what their memories are of that evening????????????

If this has been "A Chorus Line" Week, then this is "A Chorus Line" Day.  I should have taken the day off.

How to capture the remembrance?  "One" might be the most obvious, but I opt for another selection.

Here are Priscilla Lopez, and the Original Cast, singing "What I Did For Love."
The show's song that speaks to so many people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 40th Anniversary to "A Chorus Line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
