Oh, My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does This Mean That Bunny Rabbit Is Dead???????????

                                    This is another sad day for Baby Boomers, darlings!!!!!!!!!!  Not since the passing of Burr Tilstrom, Fran Allison, and Shari Lewis, has a puppeteer's death caused such sadness.

                                      On July 26 in Phoenix, Arizona, Cosmo Allegretti passed away, at the age of 86.  He was the puppeteer on "Captain Kangaroo," but, to so many of us, he was Bunny Rabbit, Mister Moose, Grandfather Clock, and Dancing Bear!!!!!!!!!!   He was also the painter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                        To me, these characters were always real.  I was young enough, then, to believe in their reality, and, even with this knowledge, that belief will never leave me.  Same with Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And, like Mr. Rathbun before this post, this is a part of my history gone, but also that of an entire television generation, who grew up on "Captain Kangaroo," long before anyone heard of Big Bird and "Sesame Street."

                                         Cosmo and his creations will be deeply missed.  But they will live on in our minds and our hearts.  In that way, Bunny Rabbit, Dancing Bear, and the rest, can never truly die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                            But they will be deeply missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
