What??????????????? No "Carol??????????????????????"

The 2016 Academy Award Nominations--to honor the best of 2015--were announced yesterday, and you know I have to weigh in on that.  As has become more common of late, with the years, who is NOT nominated is equally as interesting, as who is.  So, I am just going to rave, like the bitch I can be!!!!!!!!!!!!

No "Carol???????????"  What, are there too many prostates on the Academy???????  Are they actually terrified of lesbians??????????  Does "Carol" somehow emasculate them????????????
Ten years before, "Brokeback Mountain," which was more graphis, sexually, at least got nominated for Best Picture.  Its loss is historical, but at least it got nominated.

Thank God Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara got recognized for "Carol."  But not Todd Haynes, and, most disgraceful of all, no Sarah Paulson!!!!!!!!  Who walked away with the film!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, that bitch, Jennifer Lawrence, got nominated. for doing the same thing she does in every movie--scowl at the camera and look angry!!!!!!!!!!!  She must be the greatest head giver in Hollywood, for she has no right to call herself an actress!!!!!!!!!  Maybe she needs to do a remake of "Deep Throat!!!!!!!!!!!!"

At least the Jennifer we love--Jennifer Jason Leigh--at last got a nomination after decades in the business.  You know I have adored her work for years, darlings, but there is no way I am going to see this performance, because the film she is in, "The Hateful Eight," is directed by Quentin Tarantino, and seeing one of his films is akin to root canal!!!!!!!!!  I have had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A year without MERYL???????????  How can that be?????????  Thank God "Spotlight" and "The Big Short" were nominated; both are sensible choices.  But Michael Keaton won the New York Film Critics Award for that film, and he gets zilch????????  Mark Ruffalo makes sense, but Rachel McAdams?????????  Lots of actresses could have played that part; I would have liked to have seen Brian D'Arcy James and Liev Schreiber, among others, in there, than she!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And how about  Steve Carrell, and Ryan Gosling, both excellent actors????????????

And Leonardo?????????  Oh, God--just give that little pisser the award, and call it a day!!!!!!!!!!!!  He is  losing his looks, so he  won't be worth much more, eventually, so, unless they want to give him a Lifetime Achievement Award, certifying death in a matter of months, now is the time to give the Oscar  to him!  Not that I want him to win, because I don't!!!!!!!!!!  He is SO overrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Charlotte Rampling, an old timer, being recognized for "45 Years!!!!!!!!!"   How about another oldster, Jane Fonda, for her turn in "Youth????????"   Huh????????
Sweeties????????????????

Good for Bryan Cranston for "Trumbo."  Too bad Cate was not also nominated for "Truth."  And how about the nominees being SO White Bread????????  What is that about, loves????????
By their standards, the Coppertone Little Girl would not be nominated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a time when the Oscars meant something.  Now, it is simply a matter of "Who cares?????????"

Still a couple of nominees strike my fancy, so I will be watching, come February 28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, I am telling you, if Jennifer Lawrence wins, I will walk right up to the TV set, and smack her face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
